Postnatal refurbishment
The Mater has delivered exemplary care, especially to new parents and babies since 1906 when the hospital for Women and Children opened. The current Maternity ward was state-of the-art when it opened 1991, but the facilities now need to be upgraded to include larger rooms to better meet the needs of modern families.
Initial planning of the new unit has been costed at $10 million, which the Friends of the Mater has committed to raise for the project as we believe that the exceptional maternity care delivered at The Mater deserves exceptional facilities. By providing premium facility upgrades with more modern and comfortable family rooms, the Mater can continue to ensure every new family receives the essential support and care they need to thrive.
Please join us in providing Mater families with a comfortable and nurturing environment as they embark on the incredible journey of parenthood.
