Facilitating recovery with essential orthopaedic equipment
The Friends of Mater Sydney Foundation has significantly improved the Mater’s orthopaedic department by funding essential equipment. In 2024, their support facilitated the acquisition of a specialised Milano Chair, enhancing patient comfort during orthopaedic procedures. Additionally, they received a generous donation from The Bernard Curran Foundation for a "Car Transfer Station" in the orthopaedic ward.
The Car Transfer Station assists patients post-joint replacements or surgery, enabling them to practice safe vehicle entry and exit before discharge. This promotes confidence and independence in their recovery.
These investments, including the Milano Chair and Car Transfer Station, ensure patients receive the highest quality of care throughout their orthopaedic treatment.
